Description

The hummingbird crosses the world lightly, spreading its message of joy and beauty, teaching us to appreciate the wonder and magic of everyday existence.

The hummingbird is the smallest bird in the world and is typical of my lands. It. For its rapidity in flight and acrobatics, for its wonderful colours, the ancient American civilizations believed that it was the reincarnation of brave warriors fallen in battle and the representation on earth of the Sun god.

I lived in an area far from the chaos of Caracas, surrounded by greenery and rich in fauna. Hummingbirds came to visit us and graced our days with colours and whirlwinds, magical memories of my life. We could not resist their enchantment. My mother built a small fountain for them. An unforgettable sight, like that house we said goodbye to…

I was inspired by my memories, by the nostalgia of my home, of my mother, recurring in these days of isolation. I needed to escape, I needed colour, light and nature, so this painting was born.

This painting is also composed of two canvases of 30 x 40.
