Me (2022), oil painting on canvas, 80×80

I am divided between two lands, between lights and shadows, wisdom and madness, sophisticated and simple

I talk to myself, I accept myself and I like myself, through art
I love my mature woman’s face, wrinkles and dark circles
Without filters

The glass deforms because I see myself not as you see me who observe, as a great metaphor of the differences that must be understood, accepted, known

I am fascinated by the transparency that sometimes deforms, but also by the mirrors that reflect an opposite reality
The look
Mine and that of others

The deformations
They are me too
I am made of light but also of shadows

I like transparencies, veils, crystal games
Because they reflect hidden truths
Which we consider ugly
The most authentic and most interesting parts
